As part of the $40 million redevelopment of Rundle Mall Plaza, fashion giant H&M has announced it will open its first South Australian store in Rundle Mall.

Whilst South Australia is the last State to get the famed Swedish retailer, H&M Australia and New Zealand manager Hans Andersson was very complimentary about the opportunity in Rundle Mall noting “The only option we really looked at was Rundle Mall because... it is where you have to be.” H&M is consistently identified as a brand affinity for Rundle Mall customers and, as such, is expected to draw significant patronage to the Precinct. The Rundle Mall Plaza redevelopment is expected to continue transforming the prominent building into a new look shopping destination into the second half of 2018, with Weinert Group Executive Director Peter Weinert noting that “there is no doubt the time is right for this important redevelopment of the Plaza and introduction of this outstanding new H&M store into South Australia.

This significant commitment by The Weinert Group shows continuing confidence in South Australia’s retail sector.” The redevelopment will span four lower levels of the nine-storey building, with a Lower Ground Tech Hub, the Ground Floor dedicated to retail and fashion, a new Dining Precinct on Level 1 and a Health and Wellbeing Precinct planned for Level 2.
