InStitchu is a leading global menswear brand with showrooms from New York to Sydney. Following their successful pop-up store in Adelaide earlier this year, they have returned to open a permanent store as their tenth location.

Institchu is an Australian brand specialising in custom, tailored menswear for the modern gentleman, without the hefty price-tag. As an omni-channel business, they give customers the option to choose from a seamless online purchasing experience or an old-world tailoring experience at one of InStitchu's Showrooms.

Founded in 2011 by co-founders and high school friends, James Wakefield and Robin McGowan “both driven by the belief that every man should be able to afford a high quality, custom, tailored suit without breaking the bank.” said Mr Wakefield.

The business has rapidly grown over the past seven years with showrooms in Australia, New Zealand and North America. These stores were implemented as an extension to their online platform, by identifying the consumer’s desire to have stores available in conjunction with online retail platform.

With a desire to continue their growth, InStitchu opened a pop-up store within the Adelaide CBD earlier this year. This store enabled them to better understand the clientele and consumer behaviour of Adelaide.

Lord Mayor of Adelaide, Martin Haese, has welcomed the investment in an Adelaide store.

“I am delighted InStitchu has established a bricks and mortar presence in Adelaide following the outstanding success of their pop-up shop earlier this year.”

“Adelaide retail sales continue to grow above national trends, and both consumer and business confidence in South Australia is climbing,” said Mr Haese.

InStitchu founder Robin McGowan explained, “After analysing the data of our pop-up store, it was an obvious decision that an InStitchu store in Adelaide would be highly sought after.”

The beautiful building at 92-96 Flinders Street was chosen as the home of their tenth showroom, selected for the convenient and central location.

The store hosted their opening night on Wednesday 2 May, where guests were given the opportunity to explore InStitchu’s signature combination of old-world tailoring with the latest technology. Guests discovered the latest suiting trends and learnt how InStitchu’s provides the option for customers to create their own custom, tailored garment.

Institchu is joining the ever-growing collection of brands calling Adelaide home and helping raise the city to the forefront of retail in Australia.
