Adelaide’s Mayfair Hotel has taken out the top prize in travel-giant trivago’s annual Awards, beating over 220 five-star hotels nationally, while the Majestic Roof Garden Hotel came in at Number 5 in the 4-Star hotel category.
The trivago Awards determine the top ten hotels per country through analysing the hotels with the highest consistent trivago guest ratings. Over 120 million monthly users contribute or access the review criteria which span across eight categories including location, service and comfort. The top Award is a weighty testament to the Mayfair Hotel’s continual commitment to delivering a truly immersive luxury experience. This accolade comes on the back of the Mayfair Hotel’s win of 'Best Hotel Bed' in the 2018 Australian Gourmet Traveller Hotel Awards.
The Mayfair Hotel is situated in the stunning heritage Australia Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society (CML) Building on the corner of King William Street and Hindley Street. The $55 million development opened its doors in January 2015 after Malaysian-backed company Adabco Group recognised the ample opportunity in Adelaide’s growing tourism sector and the Riverbank precinct’s redevelopment activity. The Group sought to leverage South Australia’s growing global-reputation for exceptional food, wine and quality. The menu showcases the best of local produce while the interior utilised local suppliers including the renowned luxury mattress, which was designed and patented by local business A.H Beard.
